Balboa Bay Club
A private membership club since 1948, self-described as the “Host of the Coast,” with a 130-slip private marina, a private beach and the Members Grill.
Its private marina holds 130 slips for boats from 20 to 100 feet, members only, with member guest docks published among the club's privileges.
Why the house keeps it
We keep Balboa Bay Club because it is the harbor's resort-club life in one address — a private beach and pool, the Members Grill, Duffy boats and paddleboards for the afternoon, and a 130-slip marina out front. It has called itself the Host of the Coast since 1948, and the house sees no reason to argue.
Membership & costs
The club publishes its privileges, not its costs: valet; a private beach, pool and poolside bar; fitness facilities; basketball and pickleball courts; a members-only restaurant; member guest docks; year-round events; Kids Club; Duffy boats, e-bikes and paddleboards; preferred rates at Balboa Bay Resort; and access to an extensive network of reciprocal clubs. The club marina is members-only.
